“Morse”

Ray and I were at the Cavalier West of England Show in the UK in 2010, sitting down and watching the Minor Puppy Class when this stunning little boy caught my eye. To cut a long story short, when he came out of the ring, I approached his owner/breeder, Sue Shrimpton and asked if Morse would like to live with Ray and I in Australia. She laughed at me, but after constant communication with Sue for the next 6 months she weakened and said that he could come to us.

He arrived with his ears chewed off to the leathers but right from day one, we knew how special this young boy was. He settled in straight away and quickly became the King at Cabrook.

A week after arriving, we drove to the Canberra Specialty and Morse won a big Limit class under well respected USA Judge Mr. Ted Eubank.

Morse was very lightly shown at All Breeds shows but was very quickly made up into an Australian Champion, winning two Best in Shows and two Runner Up Best in Shows at All Breeds Shows. He won 14 Best in Shows at Cavalier Specialty’s around Australia.

Morse has over 80 Champion children here in Australia and overseas, as a result of his frozen semen being used. He has Supreme Champion children in all four colours. He has certainly passed on his type and beautiful temperament to his children.

His last show was at the Canberra Specialty where we had a lovely get together with a beautiful cake and bubbly wine for all the friends of Morse and ourselves.

Morse was peacefully put to sleep in our arms at the end of 2020. So sudden. An X-ray showed a mass in his throat. Gone but never forgotten, Our Best Friend – With us forever in our hearts.
